Praying Doxologies: Revelation 5: 12-13

Lord God, there is only One Lamb, spotless and holy-perfect who willingly died for the sins of the world: his name is Jesus Christ. Father, may we seek and truly know the power and presence, might and mercy, love and forgiveness, abundance and knowledge that is found in and through Jesus Christ; to Him be all glory and praise. Eternal One, Son of glory, to the one who sits in the presence of the God of creation, may all praise and honor be yours; to you, who offered up yourself as the ultimate sacrifice, may joy be accredited to you and may your fame be spread throughout the world. To you who is forever able, may all glory and praise belong to you. Eucharistos. Amen and amen. Rev. 5:12-13

Praying Doxologies: 1 Timothy 1:17

Almighty One, King of glory, whose existence knows no beginning and knows no end; how awesome is your name and how humbled are we to stand in the presence of your mercy and love. Though you are unseen to us, we have seen the glory of your earthly dwelling, in and through your son Jesus Christ; though invisible, you made yourself visible. You alone are God—Lord and God—who deserves all honor, whose praise will only grow in glory in the age to come. To You the only wise King, who was and is and is to come; Eternal King; Eucharistos. Amen. 1 Timothy 1:17

Praying Doxologies: 1 Timothy 6:15b-16

Consecrated One; True King, who rules with might and love; authority and tenderness; above all earthly powers, you alone triumph over evil. Eternal One, Light of light, how we long to stand in your presence, to bask in the light of hope and love so completely true. How remarkable are your ways that we are not able to know your glory in its fullness amidst us; we would crumble in the presence of your glory, so powerful and absolute. Unseen Glory and Majestic King, may all bow down and confess the name of Jesus, to the honor and pleasure of you, our Father and love; our Lord, our God. Praise be to your glory and the supremacy of your name, before all times and forever more. Thank you. We love you.  Amen. 1 Timothy 6:15b-16

Praying Doxologies: Rev. 1: 5b-6

Matchless lover of humanity, One who seeks us continually even when we turn from your ways: we thank you because you have wiped away every sin from our identity. We thank you for breaking the chains of sin that have bound us. We thank you that through the blood of Christ, you have redeemed us and created for yourself a people, a royal priesthood, a family bound by His blood, to make known the justice, peace, love, and fullness of shalom that is found in and through Jesus Christ our Lord and rightful King. Lord, we know we fall short of your call, but we will not give up, may our tenacity and perseverance be to your glory. Forever. Amen. Revelation 1: 5b-6

Praying Doxologies: Romans 11:33,36

Lord God, Heavenly Father; your abundance is inexhaustible, reaching to the ends and beyond the bounds of your creation; your sovereignty and omniscience are unrestricted, like the rays of the sun bringing the knowledge of light and life into a broken and dark world, penetrating the depths of all you have created! Your righteousness and proceedings are just and all that you do, you do with utter perfection. May we honor the supremacy of your name and nature; as the One who spoke and the universe came to be. To You who was, and is, and will always be; O Infinite One, may all glory be yours. Eucharistos. Amen. (Romans 11:33,36)

Praying Doxologies: Ephesians 3:20-21

Mighty Father, God over all, One who surpasses: your works are eternally expansive, knowing no bounds. Your provision is magnified by the work of your Sprit in and through our lives, beyond the walls of our church buildings and brought into the world so that others may know you, for your glory and fame. Lord, this is your call on all of our lives, to point other towards you, for all generations. Thank you for this challenge, may we be vessels of hope and light to those we encounter. All glory to you, our Lord God, for now and to the end of time. We love you. Amen and amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Praying Doxologies: Jude 24-25

Lord God, Father: to you, who keeps us on the straight path–and brings back those who wander–you alone restore all relationships to yourself and all of creation. You are a long-suffering God who patiently endures and loves us so deeply that we cannot deny the boundless extent of your love and its action in our lives. We thank you that by the faithful work of your son we are able to stand in the presence of the Almighty Creator of the Universe, not with shame or guilt, but with joy. Lord, may we bask in the reality that someday we will stand in your presence, cloaked in the perfection of Christ, and filled with joy unimaginable; all praise to your glory. You are the true and only God, who, by the redemptive works of your Son, Jesus Christ, has declared your ultimate sovereignty, rule, and kingdom, on earth as is in heaven; for all time and beyond eternity. Eucharistos. Amen. Jude 24-25

A Prayer for Faithfulness

Lord God, Father and One who desires a relationship with his creation; thank you for your mercy and protection; your faithful commitment to us misfit-rebels, and doers of sin. Lord we thank you for the way you redeem us and for your plan to perfect all things in and through your son. Almighty One, we thank you for your sovereign power and steadfast faithfulness; when we are less-than committed to you, forever you are faithful.

May your power, and your rule be known to all and the glory of your gospel be lived-out by all who hear and respond to your Word. May we be faithful to your faithfulness. For now and to the end of time, praying in your Son and our King Jesus’ name, amen.

A Prayer for the Love Command

Tender Father, Desire of our heart, One who is love: let it be our intention this new year to fall more and more in love with you; that we might love you with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength. Let our hearts be firmly fixed on you, our thoughts be your thoughts, your words be on our lips when we rise and when we rest, that we might say with the Psalmist, “O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you.” Lord, I pray we thirst after you and love you so utterly and completely. May the fullness of that love overflow into all aspects of our lives; so that all that we do is done in love. Let the command to love you above all empower us to love our neighbor, love our fellow brother and sister in Christ, and love our enemy. May our love be perfected by the power of your Spirit so that we are emboldened to love unconditionally. Father, guide us as we live out our love, empower us to love fearlessly, lead us to be “love in action” for the glory of Your name.

We pray this in the name of the One who loves so abundantly that He laid down His life for the sake of all humanity: your Son and our king Jesus. Eucharistos. Amen

A Prayer for Subtle Awareness

Gentle Presence, Subtle Ruler, One who bore flesh to join-in creation: may we recognize all the ways you reveal yourself to us in our temporal and finite state. May we be attune to the whispers of the Spirit and the continual resonance that alerts us to your presence and power; behold, you are with us always. Sweet, sweet, God, we pray that we are receptive and eager to respond to your unceasing activity in our lives; the way you tug at our heartstrings.

Loving Presence, we thank you for both the sublime and subtle ways you make yourself known, ways we may not respond to if we are not willing to join Simeon in relying on the gentle nudge of your Spirit. Lord, give us a spirit of wisdom, enlighten our hearts, and open our eyes to your loving presence. May all glory be yours, subtly sublime One.

We pray this in your Son and our King Jesus’ name. Emmanuel. Amen.
