There was a time not long ago
yesterday, maybe a week ago
that
all seemed understandable;
I had it all figured out

Grasping and understanding
all that is and is to come;
Oh, how I understood

Today, tomorrow
and moving forward

I now see
the understanding I thought I had
was really presuppositions

Not the true wisdom gained
and earned, yes earned
by years of diligent hard work

Now I see
my understanding is slight

Now
I grasp nothing but faith
and hold on tight…
because
It’s all I’ve got
